Berrat Starts Strong, Cajun Doubles Wins Six on Opening Weekend

Angelique Berrat won five of her six matches over the weekend
LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The Louisiana women's tennis team opened the fall season at the Cowgirl Invite in Lake Charles. Angelique Berrat had a strong weekend, earning five wins in six matches, while in doubles, Louisiana won six times over McNeese, Texas State, and Tarleton State.
Berrat was terrific in singles, only dropping a single set all weekend. The senior went on to win two of her three doubles contests, including a win over Sun Belt Conference foe Texas State. Rocio Navarro was also a bright spot in singles with a pair of wins. Freshman Safia Zenbi won a pair of matches in her collegiate debut, while Nina Krecklenberg earned a win as well.
Berrat and Zenbi paired to win twice, as did the duo of Ana Martinez Vaquero and Ana Della Gora. Krecklenberg and Marilou Bressan earned a doubles victory over Tarleton State, as did Navarro and Anicia Hammoud.
