Ragin' Cajuns Gear Up For Highlands Invitational

Louisiana part of 13-team field hosted by ETSU
WESTCHESTER, Ill. – Coming off a sixth-place finish at the season-opening Argent Financial Classic, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team heads to suburban Chicago to begin play on Monday in the Highlands Invitational, hosted by Turtleson, at the Chicago Highlands Club.

First-day action will begin at 7 a.m., with a 36-hole fixed tee start from the No. 1 and 10 tees. The 54-hole event will conclude on Tuesday with live scoring available at Scoreboard.Clippd.com. Â

The 13-team field, hosted by East Tennessee State, includes Louisiana, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Louisiana Tech, Loyola-Chicago, UTSA, Wake Forest, VCU and Yale.

Louisiana, paired with Davidson and Iowa in Monday's opening rounds, will tee off beginning at 7:20 a.m., with Ellis Bright competing individually in his Louisiana debut.

True freshman Drew Sliman makes his Louisiana debut at 8:10 a.m., from the No. 10 tee and will be followed by Jay Brooks (8:20 a.m.), Carter Schmitt (8:30 a.m.), Jean Louis du Plessis (8:40 a.m.) and Malan Potgieter (8:50 a.m.).

Potgieter shared first-place honors in last week's Argent Financial Classic, shooting 13-under-203. The senior capped off the 54-hole event with a career-low, 8-under-par 64. Du Plessis, competing individually, carded a 4-under-212 in the event for the Ragin' Cajuns with Schmitt finishing at even-par 216.
