Louisiana Places Three on CSC Academic All-District Team

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Andrew Herrmann, Dylan Theut and JR Tollett were each named on Tuesday to the 2025 Academic All-District Baseball team, nominated and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the team's games or started at least 66 percent of the program's contests. For pitchers, they must make either 17 appearances or pitch at least 25 innings. They also must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Herrmann, who earned his degree this spring in finance with a 3.58 grade point average, posted a 3-5 record with a 4.99 ERA during the 2025 season for the Ragin' Cajuns. The southpaw finished second on the team in innings pitched (70.1) and was fourth in strikeouts (53).

Theut, a 3.57 graduate student in business administration, made 19 appearances out of the bullpen for Louisiana during the season and finished with a 1-2 record with two saves and a 3.94 ERA. The Fulshear, Texas native, who posted a 3.51 GPA as an undergraduate, struck out 31 batters in 32.0 innings on the mound.

Tollett, a 3.57 student in management, led Louisiana with a 3.51 ERA and innings pitched (77.0) in 17 appearances with 11 starts. The Ruston, La., native posted a 6-4 record on the mound for the Ragin' Cajuns. The sophomore right-hander qualified for the national CSC All-America ballot which will be announced on July 1.
