Fillat Gimenez Named SBC Player of the Week

The senior led the Cajuns to their first win of the season
LAFAYETTE – Oriol Fillat Gimenez was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week the league announced on Wednesday. The senior helped lead Louisiana to a win over UT Tyler in their home opener on Saturday.
Playing on court one in singles for the first time, Fillat Gimenez came away victorious, 6-4, 6-4, against Carel Wessell, the No. 11 singles player in Division II. The senior started the day with a 6-3 doubles win on court two.
The Cajuns host the Cajun Winter Classic starting at 9 a.m. this Friday against Southern Arkansas.
