Ragin’ Cajuns Enter Lengthy Homestand on Wednesday

2/4/2025 1:03:00 PM | Women's Basketball

Matchup with Marshall marks the first of four straight games at the Cajundome

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team kicks off a four-game homestand – which keeps the team at the Cajundome over the next two weeks – on Wednesday, February 5 in a 6:00 p.m. contest against Marshall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Louisiana Athletics Department is celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) with a halftime recognition of student-athletes from women's teams and athletics administration.

The Ragin' Cajuns (9-11, 5-6 SBC) return to where they've been most successful as they seek to return to climbing the SBC standings. UL sports a 7-3 mark at the Cajundome this season.

The Thundering Herd (7-15, 2-9 SBC) make their first visit to the Cajundome. It's only the second-ever Sun Belt meeting between the two programs.

Last season, the would-be SBC champion Marshall bested Louisiana by a 30-plus point margin in Huntington, West Virginia. Both programs went through a roster overhaul, giving Wednesday's game a whole new feel.

UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns continue their four-game homestand and briefly step out of conference play to face Miami University in the MAC-SBC Challenge on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cajundome.

Saturday's game completes the second edition of the MAC-SBC Challenge. Louisiana looks for a split in this season's MAC-SBC Challenge, dropping a 57-55 last-minute heartbreaker at NIU back in November.

The Ragin' Cajuns also seek their first home win in the MAC-SBC Challenge. Louisiana dropped a 64-55 decision to Kent State in the inaugural matchup of the event in November 2023 at the Cajundome.

Live coverage is available on ESPN+, the Ragin' Cajuns Radio Network (The Goat 103.3 FM/1420 AM and Varsity Sports app) and CajunStats.com.
