>> Louisiana Softball continues its season-opening, 14-game homestand at Lamson Park with the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational I from Friday-Sunday, February 14-16.

>> Joining the Ragin' Cajuns for the tournament is Central Arkansas, Northern Illinois, Ole Miss and Sam Houston.

>> Louisiana is set to enjoy the second of three straight weekends at Lamson Park to start the 2025 season – the first road outing not until February 28-March 2 in Auburn's Jane B. Moore Memorial.

>> The Ragin' Cajuns enter the weekend carrying a three-game win streak, outscoring foes 26-3 to finish last week's 39th Louisiana Classic.

>> UL's defense has picked up where it left off last season, the squad ranking No. 1 in the nation in double plays turned (1.4/game).

>> Including the two matchups with Ole Miss, the Cajuns are scheduled to play 10 games against SEC foes this spring.

>> Louisiana has scored game's first run four out of five times on the young season.

>> The Cajuns offense batted .328 on opening weekend and successfully executed a sacrifice hit seven times.

>> The Ragin' Cajuns Invitational I is a 2024 NCAA Lafayette Regional reunion: Louisiana and Ole Miss participated in the tournament and current NIU head coach Kathryn Gleason served as the NCAA's site representative.

>> UL's No. 1 and 2 hitters, Maddie Hayden and Kayla Falterman, reached base a combined 23 out of 34 plate appearances on opening weekend.

>> Kayla Falterman reached base in 12 out of 15 plate appearances (.800 OB%) and batted .700 (7-of-10) during Opening Weekend.

>> Kayla Falterman went 6-for-7 (.857) at the plate and drew three walks, reaching base 9-of-10 times (.900) and scoring all five of her runs during the Cajuns three consecutive wins over Saturday and Sunday.

>> Freshman Emily Smith homered in her first collegiate at bat and finished opening weekend with two home runs and five RBI.

>> Freshman pitcher Mallory Wheeler held foes to a single run and eight hits over 10-2/3 innings pitched in her collegiate debut weekend.

>> Mallory Wheeler (D1Softball and Softball America) and Emily Smith (Softball America) were named to national Freshmen Watch Lists.

>> Maddie Hayden, Sam Roe and Cecilia Vasquez represented the Louisiana on the 2025 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team.

>> The Ragin' Cajuns, who received the most first-place votes, were picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

>> The 2025 campaign marks the 45th season in the storied history of Louisiana Softball. The program has recorded 1,893 wins, a total that ranks Top 5 in NCAA history.
