Ragin' Cajuns, Red Wolves Meet in Key SBC Series in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Louisiana Volleyball team is on the road this week in Jonesboro, Arkansas for a two-match Sun Belt Conference series with Arkansas State at First National Bank Arena from Friday-Saturday, October 31-November 1.

The Ragin' Cajuns (12-8, 4-6 SBC) are scheduled to meet the Red Wolves (14-7, 7-3 SBC) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 31) and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 1). Live video coverage of both matches is available on ESPN+.

One week after taking down current SBC West leader South Alabama for another marquee conference win, Louisiana gets a shot at another division frontrunner in the second-place ASU squad.

UL has been successful in recent trips to Jonesboro, having won four straight meetings over ASU in FNB dating back to the 2019 season.

It's a high stakes series for both teams. The Ragin' Cajuns look to put themselves in a position to earn an SBC Tournament spot next week, while the Red Wolves aim to keep pace with South Alabama, division-record wise, to set up a battle for the SBC West title next week in Mobile.

A featured matchup is Louisiana's Cailin Demps on offense ranking Top 10 in league play in kills per set (3.54) and ASU's Daedrianna Cail on defense ranking Top 3 in conference matches in blocks per set (1.47).

UL currently holds the fifth and final conference tournament spot from the SBC West with the tiebreaker over Troy.

Senior opposite Cailin Demps ranks Top 10 in the SBC in kills per set (3.58). She surpassed 900 career kills last Saturday.
Cailin Demps is eyeing 300 kills in a single season for the first time in her collegiate career (currently at 261).
Outside hitter Grace Sweeney has emerged in SBC play, scoring 91 kills, the second-highest on the team, at a rate of 2.46 per set.
Libero Kennedy Gustafson has had double digits in digs in all 10 SBC outings. She ranks Top 5 in league play at 4.32 digs per set.
Kennedy Gustafson recorded a rare libero double-double of 20 digs (match-high) and 13 assists on Oct. 24 vs. South Alabama.
Freshman Lindsey Henry leads UL with 70 blocks on the season. She's averaging 1.0-plus per set in SBC play (41 blocks in 37 sets).
The season stats to date show marked improvement in hitting percentage – UL sits at a .250 clip in 2025 (hit .156 in 2024 season).

5: UL's balanced offense features five players who have totaled 100-plus kills. The Cajuns rank Top 3 in the SBC in kills per set (13.33).
15: Senior opposite hitter Cailin Demps has scored at least eight kills every match and reached double digits 15 times (9 of 10 SBC matches).
902: Last Saturday vs. South Alabama, Cailin Demps surpassed the 900-kills threshold in her career. She has at least six matches left to chase 1,000 career kills.

UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns conclude their home schedule from Thursday-Friday, November 6-7 hosting fellow in-state Sun Belt Conference member ULM at E.K. Long Gym.

Louisiana will be celebrating Senior Weekend during the series with the Warhawks. The Senior Day ceremony honoring opposite hitter Cailin Demps, the team's lone senior, will be held prior to the start of Friday's match.

UL and ULM are slated to meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 6) and 12:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 7). Thursday's contest is being broadcast on ESPN+.

During the series with the Warhawks, the Ragin' Cajuns will seek out the two wins needed to reach 10 home wins in a single season for the first time the 2020 season.
