Nelson Places 21st at NCAA Championships

The sophomore scored on his first jump of the night

EUGENE, Oregon - Jeremy Nelson wrapped up the 2024 outdoor season for the Louisiana track and field team with a 21st-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Friday.
 
The sophomore's first jump attempt of 50-0.5/15.25 led him to finish as the 21st-best jumper in the nation. Nelson did not score on his following two attempts.
 
Nelson was the only representative of the Sun Belt Conference in the 24-man field. Salif Mane of Fairleigh Dickson claimed the event with a jump of 56-2.25/17.14.
