Former Cajun Bryan Named to USPTA Southern Hall of Fame

Bryan was named to the Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011
GULFPORT, Mississippi - Former Ragin' Cajun great and Director of Tennis at the Youngsville Sports Complex, Bill Bryan, was named to the United State Professional Tennis Association Southern Division Hall of Fame. Bryan is only the third individual from Louisiana to receive the honor.

Bryan had a storied career as a Ragin' Cajun and is currently the winningest player in program history with 168. The five-time All-Southland Conference selection was inducted into the Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

After his collegiate career, Bryan was twice named the USPTA Pro of the Year, coached the Jr. Davis Cup for Louisiana twice, served four terms as the Louisiana State Chapter President, and was a board member for 12 years. He has continued to support the Louisiana men's tennis program, hosting at the Raising Cane's Tennis Center in Youngsville for the Sugarcane Showdown.

Nominations are evaluated on their involvement in their state chapter, division chapter, national association, their teaching and coaching accomplishments, playing accomplishments, innovations in the game of tennis, involvement in allied organizations, and other contributions to the teaching profession and promotion of tennis.Â
