Louisiana Falls in SBC Semis to No. 63 Georgia Southern

ROME, Georgia - A day after a thrilling comeback win over South Alabama, the Louisiana men's tennis team's run in the Sun Belt Conference Championships ended on Saturday at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia. The Cajuns fell to top-seeded and nationally ranked No. 63 Georgia Southern, 4-0.
The Eagles took the early lead in doubles but the Cajuns battled back. Trailing 5-1 on court one, Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Sacha Granvincent battled back to make it 5-4 before Georgia Southern took the match.
Vasil Dimitrov took the opening set and was locked into a tight battle on court three. His match went unfinished at 6-4, 2-6, 4-4 when the Eagles won singles matches on courts one, two, and five. The other unfinished courts were close battles. Oriol Fillat Gimenez fell in the opening set 7-5 but was tied 3-3 in the second when his match was called. Leonard Tramolay fell 6-4 in the first and was deep in a tiebreaker to claim the second set when the match was called.
