Former Ragin’ Cajuns in the Pros

There are a total of 15 former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns across the globe that appeared on a professional basketball roster this season, with several seasons still ongoing. Some have had big recent performances as some of their seasons near the close. All names and statistics are provided by Eurobasket.com.
 
Elfrid Payton had a big year for the Indiana Mad Ants of the NBA G League. The former first-round pick averaged 11.9 ppg, 9.1 apg, and 5.4 rpg in 18 games for the Mad Ants. Payton set the record for triple-doubles for a Mad Ant with his fourth on March 18. In that game, he also set the franchise record for points in a triple-double with 25. On January 23 and 24, he became just the second player in G League history to record triple-doubles on back-to-back days.

Shawn Long led Osaka Evessa (Japan) to a one-point victory over Kyoto Hannaryz 101-100 in the Japanese B1 League in Saturday night's game. He posted a double-double by scoring 38 points and 15 rebounds. He also added five assists and three blocks in 41 minutes. Long has had a strong year with averages of 19.0 ppg, 10.5 rpg, and 2.5 apg in 52 games.

Frank Bartley IV led Brindisi (Italy) to a victory over Treviso, 93-75, in the Italian Serie A last Sunday with Bartley leading the way with 25 points. In Bartley's first season with the team, he's posted 14.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.3 spg, with just four games left in the season.

Tyren Johnson contributed to a Sluc Nancy Basket Pro's (France) victory against Monaco, 100-86, in the French Betclic ELITE ProA on Sunday night. Johnson recorded 18 points and added three assists in 32 minutes. Johnson's team (27-2) leads the Betclic ELITE ProA and is 27-2 after earning their 18th straight win. He's averaging 11.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.1 spg in 29 games.
 


Greg Williams, Jr. was the main contributor in Horsens IC's (Denmark) victory against Randers, 98-86, in the Danish BasketLigaen in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game with 24 points and five assists. Horsens IC is second in Places 1-6 group at 24-5 on the year with one game remaining. In his first season of professional basketball, Williams is averaging 14.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.7 apg, and 1.9 spg.

Jalen Dalcourt helped Cherkasy (Ukraine) hand league-leading Dnipro their first loss, 98-97, in the Ukrainian Superleague last Saturday. He recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 29 minutes. Dalcourt is averaging 12.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, and 1.3 spg in 32 games, his first season of professional ball.

Jakeenan Gant recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds while going 8-for-8 from the free throw line, last week for Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva (Israel). For the year Gant is averaging 15.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

Johnathan Stove scored 18 points with three assists for SYNTAINICS MBC Weissenfels (Germany) in their last game. Stove has had a strong year with 16.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and 1.6 apg in 27 games.

Bryce Washington led Fukuoka Rizing (Japan) in scoring with 18 points in their last game on Saturday. Washington also added seven boards, dished four assists, and had three steals. Washington has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.2apg, and 1.3spg.

Brian Williams helped the Sutherland Sharks (Australia) win their game in the Australian NBL One (second division) on Saturday night. Williams recorded 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals in 26 minutes. This year Williams averages 9.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, and 3.0spg in two games.

Dou Gueye recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds last time out for Kanazawa (Japan) in a loss to Earthfriends. This season he's averaging 13.6 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.2 apg, and 1.4 spg.
