Ragin’ Cajuns Look to Build Off Big Weekend

Louisiana had 47 podium finishes last weekend
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - Coming off a dominating performance at the Louisiana Classics, the Louisiana track and field is ready for a busy weekend. The Cajuns are set to compete in the Keyth Talley Invitational in Baton Rouge hosted by LSU. Louisiana will also send athletes to Houston for the Victor Lopez Invitational in Houston.
The Cajuns set a pair of program records last weekend at home. Lily Murray broke the hammer throw record with a distance of 184-10. They closed the day with a record in the 4x800 with Skylar Delgado, Abbey Marie Ratcliff, Ella Segura, and Caroline Spalitta running a time of 9:16.92.
They won 12 events on the day with the men claiming seven of them and had 47 podium finishes.
The men swept the sprint events, claiming the 100, 200, 4x100, and 110H events. The women also had a good day, winning the 100 and 100H, while taking second in the 4x100.
Louisiana is sending a full slate of athletes to Baton Rouge. In Houston, the Cajuns are scheduled to appear in distance events beginning late Friday night.
Joining Louisiana at the Keyth Talley Invitational are Grambling, Louisiana Tech, LSU, New Orleans, Nicholls, Nike US Army, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, South Alabama, Southern, Tiger Olympians, ULM, and Wisconsin.
