Louisiana to Close Out Four-Game Road Trip at Central Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Louisiana women's basketball closes out its four-game road trip with a midday matchup at Central Michigan on Saturday as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge.

Tipoff for the first meeting between the Ragin' Cajuns (9-12, 5-7 SBC) and the Chippewas (5-15, 3-8 SBC) is scheduled for 12 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with radio coverage in the Lafayette area on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM and The Varsity Network worldwide.

Louisiana is looking to bounce back after a 74-42 defeat at Marshall on Wednesday. Brandi Williams led the way for Louisiana as she scored a game-high 18 points and added six rebounds. Over the last three games, the Lake Charles, Louisiana, native has averaged 16.3 points per game and is shooting 55-percent (11-for-20) from beyond the arc. On the glass, she has hauled in 16 over the three-game span, including a season-high seven against Southern Miss.

For the season, Williams paces the Ragin' Cajuns with 11.8 points per game as Tamera Johnson adds 10.6 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds. Since Jan. 1, Jaylyn James has provided a spark as she averages a team-high 12.9 points, including a 25-point performance against Arkansas State.

Central Michigan, who has won two of their last three games played, is led by Karrington Gordon, who averages a team-high 10.2 points to go along with 3.1 rebounds. Taylor Anderson and Nadege Jean lead the team at 6.5 rebounds per game as Jean averages 8.7 points per game, which ranks second on the team.
