Louisiana Wraps Up Regular Season Against Southern Miss

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana women's basketball team closes out the regular season on Friday as it hosts Southern Miss at 5 p.m. inside the Cajundome.

The game between the Ragin' Cajuns (14-13, 9-8 SBC) and the Lady Eagles (17-11, 10-7 SBC) will be streamed live on ESPN+ with radio coverage in the Lafayette area on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM and The Varsity Network worldwide.

Louisiana is looking to bounce back following Tuesday's 46-43 loss against South Alabama and head into the conference tournament with momentum. The Cajuns are currently in a tie for seventh and have solidified a first-round bye.

Friday's contest is the second meeting between the two teams this season as the Lady Eagles came away with a 55-48 triumph in Hattiesburg on Feb. 1. The Cajuns held USM to 28-percent shooting as Brandi Williams had a game-high 16 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds as Alicia Blanton added 10 points.

For the season, Williams paces the Cajun offense with 10.7 points per game while Tamera Johnson is second with 10.5 points and hauls in a team-high 6.5 rebounds. Since January, Jaylyn James has upped her game, averaging a team-best 12.5 points, raising her season total average by more than five points.

Southern Miss enters the fray on a two-game winning streak after defeating Texas State, 67-59, Wednesday in San Marcos. Domonique Davis tops the team in scoring at 19.8 as Melyia Grayson adds 12.6 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds.
