Louisiana Opens Play Monday at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

Cajuns co-hosting 22-team field which runs through Wednesday
HENDERSON, Nevada – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team competes in its second event of the spring when it begins play on Monday in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate at Reflection Bay Golf Club.

The 22-team event begins Monday at 10 a.m. (CST) with each team playing 18 holes. Live results for the three-day event, which will conclude on Wednesday, is available at GolfStat.com.

Louisiana, which is co-hosting the event for the second consecutive year with Arkansas State, is joined by a pair of Sun Belt Conference teams – South Alabama and Texas State. Also entered in the 124-player field is Central Arkansas, DePaul, Kansas City, Little Rock, Long Beach State, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Santa Clara, South Florida, Southern Illinois, Stetson, Toledo, UAB, UNC Wilmington, Utah Tech and VCU.

The Ragin' Cajuns opened the Spring portion of its 2023-24 schedule at South Alabama's Hal Williams Collegiate where it finished 14th overall.

Malan Potgieter will lead Louisiana's five-man lineup in the event after finishing 26th overall in his spring debut. The sophomore enters the week with a 71.27 scoring average which has been highlighted by six rounds in the 60's this season.

Eli Ortego (71.33) will play in the No. 2 slot for the Ragin' Cajuns with Burke Alford (72.5) in the third spot. Jake Marler (72.67) and freshman Dillon Barnard (75.0) will occupy the final two spots in the lineup for Louisiana with Maximilian Feistmantl (74.0) competing as an individual.
