LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana women's basketball team looks to stay in the win column as it hosts Arkansas State on Saturday at 2 p.m. inside the Cajundome.
The game between the Ragin' Cajuns (11-12, 6-7 SBC) and Red Wolves (13-11, 6-7 SBC) will be streamed live on ESPN+ with radio coverage The Varsity Network worldwide or on the Geaux Cajuns app.
Prior to the game, the program will recognize Tamera Johnson, Destiny Rice, Mariah Stewart and Lanay Wheaton as part of its Senior Day.
Louisiana, who has won its last two games, is coming off a thrilling 62-57 victory over Georgia Southern on Thursday. Tamiah Robinson notched a season-high 18 points as Johnson was a rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Rice added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting as Jalyn James contributed with 11 points and three rebounds.
Arkansas State enters the fray looking to bounce back after a 57-48 loss at Southern Miss on Thursday. The Red Wolves are led by Izzy Higginbottom, who averages 22.9 points and has scored in double figures in every game except for the Jan. 13 contest against the Ragin' Cajuns. Lauryn Pendleton adds 12.3 points as Anna Griffin is averaging 10.9 points and 5.9 rebounds.
In the teams' previous meeting, Jaylyn James scored a career-high 25 points and hauled in eight rebounds while leading Louisiana back from a 12-point deficit in the first half to defeat Arkansas State, 64-63, in Jonesboro. Brandi Williams and Johnson added nine points as the team shot 66.7-percent from the floor in the fourth quarter.
