First of four remaining road matches until the Cajuns return to E.K. Long

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team begins the final leg of its season-opening, three-week road stretch with a morning midweek matchup in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. against LSU at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The first meeting between the Ragin' Cajuns and Tigers since the 2011 season is being streamed live on SEC Network Plus, accessible via WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPNapp.

Louisiana (4-3) enters the second half of non-conference play coming off a four-match week that included a road win at No. 18 Rice and a pair of close calls with Wyoming and Texas Tech that could've had a different outcome.

The Cajuns also returned to full strength last weekend at the Red Raider Classic in Lubbock, Texas, as outside hitter Lauryn Hill, who missed the StarkVegas Classic and Rice contest, returned from a preseason injury.

Hill's return adds another dimension to a Cajuns offense averaging 13.6 kills per set, led by Shyia Richardson's 99 kills (4.1/set) and also features four other players with 30 kills. Backing up the offense is a defense that's pulling up 15.9 digs per set and that's been enhanced by the emergence of two-time NJCAA All-American Mio Yamamoto who collected double-figure digs all three matches in Lubbock at a rate of 5.0 pet set.

LSU (2-3) owns a split with UCLA and faced perennial NCAA Tournament contenders Northern Iowa and Creighton last weekend in Omaha. The Tigers, an NCAA Tournament team in 2022, are led by freshman Jurnee Robinson's 89 kills (4.5/set) and the trio of Jade Demps (2.4/set), Sanaa Dotson (2.3/set) and Anita Anwusi (2.2/set) each averaging two-plus kills per set.

After the conclusion of Wednesday's match, the Ragin' Cajuns will begin making their way east on I-10 to Jacksonville, Florida for the UNF Invitational this weekend (Sept. 8-9 at North Florida's UNF Arena).
