Cajuns Add to Win Total on Day Two of Lake Charles Invite

Louisiana earned three wins in singles on the day
LAKE CHARLES, LA - The Louisiana men's tennis team had a strong second day of the Lake Charles Invite winning three singles matches at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
DAY TWO RESULTS

William Ribero has been on fire to start the season and earned another win, beating Juan Accossatto of South Alabama, 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Mason Landreth earned another win this fall by beating Braden Hannig of South Alabama, 7-5, 6-3. Grant Landreth picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory over LSU freshman Charles Hobbs.

In doubles Ribero and Samuel Kyjaci defeated Southern Miss' Dakota Bobo and Shamirul Shahril, 7-5, for the team's lone doubles victory. Mason and Grant Landreth fell in their contest 6-4 to Southern Miss while Kyjaci fell in singles in straight sets to South Alabama.

The team wraps up the weekend tomorrow beginning at 8 a.m. from Lake Charles.

Ribero earned the win over UTSA, who finished last season ranked No. 42 in the country, defeating Garrett Skelly, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4. Ribero almost had a doubles win with freshman Samuel Kyjaci against Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama, but came up just short in a 6-4 defeat.

Elsewhere in singles Kyjaci and fellow freshman Mason Landreth competed against the Roadrunners. Kyjaci fell in a tight contest, 7-5, 7-6 (6) while Landreth came up just short in another close match, 7-5, 7-5.
