Tchanichev Earns a Pair of Wins on Day Two of Diving Eagle Invite

DENTON, Texas – Cristina Tchanichev had a strong second day in Denton, Texas, earning a pair of wins at the Diving Eagle Invite. Joining her in the win column were Karolina Skowronska and Jenaila Prulla who earned their first wins as a Ragin' Cajun.
Tchanichev started the day with a 6-4,6-2 win over Louisiana Tech's Ana Rodrigues. The sophomore followed that with a 7-5,6-4 victory over Tarleton State's Martha Makantasi to advance to the Flight A West Finals. There she will face Heta Nuutinen of McNeese State at 9:30 a.m.
Prulla needed a third-set tiebreaker to win her first match of the fall, 6-3,4-6,10-6 over Adeliya Mukhutdinova of UTSA. Skowronska also needed a tiebreaker for her victory, winning 6-3,6-7 (6-8),10-5.
The Cajuns are back in action tomorrow morning on the final day of the Diving Eagle Invite.
