Ragin’ Cajuns Tie for First at Argent Financial Classic

Louisiana launched up the leaderboard in the final round after shooting 10-under on the back nine
CHOUDRANT, La. – The Louisiana golf team mounted a furious rally on the back nine during the final round of play at the Argent Financial Classic to tie for first and force a three-team playoff Tuesday at Squire Creek Golf Club.
Midway through the round, the Cajuns were tied for seventh at 1-over before shooting 10-under on the back nine as a team and skyrocketing up the leaderboard. For the tournament, the team finished at 9-under after shooting a 5-under 283.
Dylan Keating lead the way for Louisiana as he tied for seventh at 5-under. He was 3-over on the day through eight holes before and eagle on No. 9 and a birdie on hole 10 moved him back to even-par. He closed out the round with birdies on Nos. 14, 15 and 17 to end the day at 3-under.
Burke Alford registered a top-10 finish at 4-under after shooting 1-under on the day, and Malan Potgieter tied for 23rd at even-par. Potgieter was 2-over after the front nine but caught fire after making the turn as he birdied five holes including three in a row on Nos. 13-15.
Eli Ortego tied for 44th at 4-over as Jake Marler tied for 67th at 9-over. Competing as an individual, Matthew Lotz tied for 81st at 13-over.
Louisiana returns to action Sept. 24-26 at the GMAC Invitational at Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, Alabama.
