Doubles Pulls Off Court One Win in SBC Championships

PEACHTREE CITY, GA – The Louisiana women's tennis team came away victorious on the top doubles court against South Alabama in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships. Despite the duo of Carla Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat winning their 10th match of the year, the Ragin' Cajuns fell to the Jags 5-0 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree, Georgia.
The Cajuns had a chance to take the doubles point after winning on court one 6-4. Louisiana held a 5-4 lead on court two but the Jaguars fought back to take the doubles point.
In singles, the Cajuns challenged the Jags but weren't able to take a set. Urchoeguia battled on court one 6-3, 4-3 before her match was called. Berrat had the closest match on court two, falling in the first set 6-4 and holding the lead before her match was called.
