Ribero Clinches Three-Set Win in Season Ending Thriller

STATESBORO, GA - Nearly four hours after the first serve of the afternoon in the Louisiana men's tennis team's regular season finale, the team came away victorious with William Ribero's third set tiebreaker victory. The 4-3 win over Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia, clinched the number-three seed in the Sun Belt Conference tournament starting on Thursday.
After the Eagles took the first doubles point of the day, the Cajuns bounced back on court two. Kacper Dworak and Alejo Ferrer Chueca claimed the 6-4 victory and right behind them was Vasil Dmitirov and Karlo Kajin who clinched the point on court one, 6-2.
Dworak pulled out the first singles win of the day on court six, 6-4, 6-1. The home side then took the next three on courts one, four, and three, in that order, to put the Cajuns on the brink. Ferrer Chueca outlasted his court two opponent in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, to tie the match at three wins each. Over on court five, Ribero took the first set 6-2 and narrowly lost the second 5-7. The sides traded points in the decisive third set, but it was the freshman Ribero who came away victorious 7-6.
