Potgieter's Low Round Leads Louisiana at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

HENDERSON, Nevada – Malan Potgieter posted a final round score of even-par 72 and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team wrapped up play in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Wednesday at the Reflection Bay Golf Club.
Battling adverse weather conditions on the final day, Louisiana slipped to 12th in the final standings and finished with a team score of 894.
Potgieter finished the 54-hole event in a tie for 33rd place at 3-over-219 – one stroke behind teammate Eli Ortego, who carded a 5-over-77 in the final round to finish tied for 28th at 2-over 218.
Matt Weber (223), Burke Alford (234) and Jake Marler (247) rounded out the lineup for Louisiana with Dylan Keating finishing at 244 after competing as an individual.
Little Rock claimed the team title at 844 with New Mexico State (851), Long Beach State (854), Arkansas State (870) and Kansas City (871) rounding out the top five. Owen Stamper of Middle Tennessee claimed the individual medalist title finishing at 11-under-205 and one shot ahead of Little Rock's Jansen Smith.
Louisiana will return to action on March 13-14 when it hosts the 38th annual Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club. The 14-team field includes defending champion Texas A&M, runner-up LSU and four-time event champion SMU (2002-05).
Admission to the two-day event is free with the final round being streamed live on ESPN+.
