Louisiana Wraps Up Play at Hal Williams Collegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – Charlie Flynn capped off the Hal Williams Collegiate on Tuesday posting his fourth individual round in the 60's this season and 17th in his career to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns team on Tuesday at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
Matt Weber concluded his second round of play with his first-ever score in the 60's as Louisiana finished 13th overall in its spring opener.
Flynn, who opened the 54-hole event with a 1-under-par 70 before shooting a 4-over 76 in Monday's suspended round, posted a 2-under-69 in the final round to finish tied for 34th at 3-over-215. The senior opened his final round with a pair of birdies at No. 12 and 13 before making the turn and recording birdies at both No. 6 and 9.
Eli Ortego completed his second round with a 1-under-70 for Louisiana and finished the 54-hole event at 5-over 218.
Freshman Malan Potgieter posted his second 1-over-72 for the tournament and finished at 6-over-219 for the Ragin' Cajuns with Weber shooting a 2-under-69 in the second round and finishing at 7-over 220 overall.
Dylan Keating, making his debut for Louisiana after transferring from Illinois, posted a 4-over-75 in the final round and finished at 226 for the tournament.
Fifth-ranked Illinois claimed the team title after shooting a team score of 816 and finishing 13 strokes ahead of second-place Arkansas (829). Kansas State (839), Southern Miss (844) and Oral Roberts (847) rounded out the top five in the event with Arkansas' Mateo Fernandez De Oliveira claiming individual medalist honors after finishing at 15-under-198.
Louisiana will return to action when it travels to Houston to compete in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic on Feb. 20-21 at Westwood Golf Club.
