Ragin' Cajuns, Tigers to play pair of nine-inning contests
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team wraps up fall practice on Sunday when it travels to Baton Rouge to face reigning national champion LSU in a pair of nine-inning contests at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. Admission to the exhibition is free.
Louisiana hosted Nicholls in a 15-inning exhibition last week at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park and earning a 12-4 victory.
The meeting with LSU is the third consecutive year the teams have faced each other in a fall exhibition with the teams scheduled to play in the lone regular-season contest in 2024 on March 2 in the Astros Foundation College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Louisiana, which finished 41-24 last season and advanced to the NCAA Coral Gables Regional, will officially open the 2024 season on Feb. 16 when it hosts Wright State in a three-game series at Russo Park.
