Ragin’ Caujns Win Three on Day Two of ITA South Regional

Saturday begins the doubles portion of the event
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – A win by Carla Urchoeguia in the final round of qualifying headlined three wins by the Louisiana women's tennis team on the second day of the ITA South Regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The junior started the day against Marta Serra of North Alabama in qualifying where a win would advance her into the main draw. It was a back-and-forth battle, but Urchoeguia came out on top, 6-4, 6-4, to move on to the round of 64. There she fell to Kaitlyn Carnicella from Auburn, 6-0, 6-0.
The Cajuns earned a pair of wins on the consolation side of the bracket as well. Christine Tchanichev cruised to a win over UNO's Tristanne Dechoux, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Jenaila Prulla came out on fire and made quick work of Alabama A&M's Yana Dhamija, 6-0, 6-2.
Urchoeguia and Prulla open the round of 32 in doubles tomorrow against Alexis Lopez and Noelle Mauro from Samford.
