BOONE, N.C. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team wraps up its longest roadtrip in nine years when it opens a three-game Sun Belt Conference series on Friday against Appalachian State at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.

First pitch for Friday's opener is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT. The series resumes on Saturday with a 2 p.m. CT start before Sunday's finale at noon CT. Fans in the Lafayette area can listen to all three games on KPEL-FM (96.5), the Varsity Network and the #GeauxCajuns app. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (23-16, 12-6 SBC), which has won 14 of its last 19 games, returns to action after coming off a three-game sweep last week at Georgia State. The Ragin' Cajuns, currently third in the SBC standings, close out a seven-game roadtrip that equals the longest since the 2013 season when Louisiana played games at Middle Tennessee (3 games), Southeastern Louisiana and Western Kentucky (3 games) from March 22-30.

Carson Roccaforte, the SBC leader in RBI (47) and sixth in the league in hitting (.360), is third nationally in sacrifice flies (7), 27th in RBI (47) and 34th in RBI per game (1.24). Connor Kimple (.318-8-28), Tyler Robertson (.306-2-18), Heath Hood (.295-2-18), Max Marusak (.287-2-15) and Julian Brock (.282-3-18) have helped Louisiana to a .264 team batting average during the season and .283 in SBC play.

The Ragin' Cajuns rank in the top-20 nationally in steals per game (8th, 2.21), stolen bases (9th, 86), sacrifice bunts (10th, 28) and triples (18th, 15). Roccaforte and Robertson have stolen a team-high 16 bases on the season with Marusak recording 15 steals.

Louisiana's pitching staff ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in ERA (4.08) and strikeouts (360) and is third in the league in opposing batting average (.244).
