Rawls Named To Collegiate Baseball Players of the Week List

Right-hander earned two wins in 9.2 innings of relief last week
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns right-hander Cooper Rawls earned his first weekly award of the 2022 season when he was named on Monday to Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week list.
Rawls, the second Ragin' Cajuns pitcher to be named to the list this season, went 2-0 on the mound last week in two appearances with a 0.93 earned run average and a combined 14 strikeouts in 9.2 innings.
Making his first appearance in over a month in last Wednesday's 8-6 win at Louisiana Tech, Rawls pitched the final 7.2 innings and fanned 12 batters. Then in an 10-inning victory at Arkansas State on Sunday, Rawls pitched the final two innings to earn his second win in five days, allowing one hit and striking out a pair of batters.
Louisiana (18-14) will return to action on Tuesday when it plays host to I-10 rival McNeese in a 6 p.m. contest at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
