Ragin' Cajuns Drop Final Two Matches of the Regular Season

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women's Tennis dropped a pair of matches during its final weekend of regular-season play, falling to Texas State 4-1 on Saturday and UT Arlington on Sunday by a final score of 4-0.
Saturday's action got started with thrilling doubles play when Lucie Raquin and Carla Urchoeguia claimed a 6-2 win on Court 2. Angel Santiago and Lana Brezanin nearly clinched the point for the Ragin' Cajuns, but fell 7-5 on Court 3 to see the Bobcats go up 1-0.
Raquin kept her hot play going with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Texas State's Mae McCutcheon on Court 3, but the visitors rattled three-straight points to claim the match.
Similar to Saturday, the doubles point came down the final court after Catarina Zheng and Momoko Yoshimura won 6-2 on Court 1. AK Harvey and Santiago took their opponents from UTA down to the wire, but ultimately fell 7-6 (7-5) to seal the first point for the Lady Mavs.
UTA went on to take the match with three, two-set wins on Courts 1, 5 and 6.
Louisiana will now wait to learn its opponent for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, which will be played in Peachtree City, Georgia, from April 21-24.
