Evan Edwards Signs With Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis

Top-flight prospect hails from the Fayetteville, Arkansas area
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis head coach Luc Godin announced the signing of Evan Edwards (Fayetteville, Ark.) on Wednesday (March 23, 2022). Edwards is set to join the Ragin' Cajuns starting in the fall 2022 season.
Entering the month of March, Edwards was the No. 1-ranked junior player in the state of Arkansas and was continually progressing in the national rankings.
"We're excited to have Evan join our program," Godin said. "He has been moving forward at a rapid pace the last few years, and we are excited that he is committed to continuing his development with us."
Last year, Edwards qualified for winter indoor nationals where he advanced deep into the singles draw and also defeated the No. 1-seeded doubles team.
The performance at winter indoor nationals resulted in him receiving the Jay Freeman Most Improved Junior Player Award by USTA Arkansas.
"We feel strongly that with the right environment and opportunity, Evan will continue to develop," Godin stated. "He will have a positive impact on the Ragin' Cajuns program, immediately. We look forward to having him on campus this fall."
