Women's Tennis Takes On ULM, Arkansas State in League Action

Ragin' Cajuns split opening weekend of Sun Belt play
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women's Tennis is set for its second weekend of Sun Belt Conference play when it hosts ULM on Friday, March 18, at 2:30 p.m. and Arkansas State on Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. Both matches will be held at Cajun Courts with free admission.
Powered by Sun Belt Player of the Week Carla Urchoeguia, the Ragin' Cajuns earned a split during the first weekend of league play after a 4-1 defeat to South Alabama and a 4-2 win over Troy.
Urchoeguia won both of her singles matches on Court 3 and picked up a huge doubles win over Troy (6-1) on Court 1 with Momoko Yoshimura. Urchoeguia and Yoshimura are 4-3 overall in the top doubles spot this season.
Tanisha Kashyap enters the weekend with a perfect 4-0 record in singles play, while Yoshimura boasts a 5-2 overall mark in singles play, including a 3-1 record on Court 4.
ULM enters the weekend 4-6 overall and 1-1 in Sun Belt action after a 4-0 sweep of Troy and a 4-1 defeat to South Alabama. The Ragin' Cajuns have won the last two meetings between the two teams by a score of 4-3, but the Warhawks have won eight of the last 10 matchups.
A-State is 4-7 overall and 0-1 in league play ahead of their matchup with Louisiana and are coming off defeats to Texas State (5-2) and Southeast Missouri State (4-3). The Cajuns have won seven of the last 10 contests, including two-straight.
