Ragin' Cajuns compete in first of six spring events leading up to Sun Belt Championships
MOBILE, Ala. – After last competing on the course in October, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team officially opens the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule on Monday when it begins play at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.

The two-day, 54-hole event begins on Monday with an 8 a.m., shotgun start consisting of 36 holes. The final 18 holes in the event will be played on Tuesday. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.

The Ragin' Cajuns, who will be paired with Davidson, Southern Miss and Texas State in Monday's first two rounds, will be a part of a 14-team field that includes host South Alabama plus UAB, Florida State, Illinois, Kansas State, Kent State, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Toledo and Western Kentucky.

Louisiana, which averaged a team score of 290.60 during five events in the fall, will be led by senior Peter Hinnant (72.0) – the team leader in scoring average during the fall. Hinnant will be joined on the par-72, 7,212-yard course by Jose Dibildox (74.0), the Lafayette tandem of Matt Weber (75.33) and Eli Ortego (72.87) and Hudson Dubinski (75.22).

The event will be the first of six tournaments in the spring for Louisiana, which is ranked No. 103 nationally in the GolfStat rankings. The Ragin' Cajuns will compete at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Feb. 28-March 2 before hosting the 36th annual Louisiana Classics on March 14-15 at Oakbourne Country Club.
