Louisiana Hosts Samford in Men's Basketball Clash

Ragin’ Cajuns face Bulldogs in first of two-game homestand
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team opens a two-game homestand on Saturday when it faces Southern Conference member Samford in a non-conference game at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with fans able to listen to the game in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.

After taking the week off to complete final exams, Louisiana (7-1) hits the floor for the first time since a 78-77 win at New Orleans last Saturday. Greg Williams, Jr., scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with Terence Lewis II adding 22.

Jordan Brown, the leading scorer for Louisiana, posted his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds against UNO while Jalen Dalcourt's two free throws with 2.5 seconds remaining proved to be the difference.

After opening the season with a 6-0 record, Samford (6-4) has dropped its last four games, including overtime setbacks at DePaul and UCF. The Bulldogs, in the midst of a five-game road trip, lead all Division I schools in free throws made per game (20.6) while leading the SoCon in both rebounds pe game (41.0) and offensive boards pe game (12.8).

Five different Bulldogs are currently averaging in double figures, with Ques Glover's 13.8 points pe game leading the squad. Jermaine Marshall (12.1), Jaden Campbell (11.5), Logan Dye (11.3), and Bubba Parham (10.1) all average in double figures for the Bulldogs.
