Louisiana Welcomes LSU-S to the CAJUNDOME for Education Day

Ragin’ Cajuns enter the contest with a 3-4 record on Education Day
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Women's Basketball team looks to return to its winning ways when it welcome LSU-Shreveport to the CAJUNDOME on Education Day. Tipoff is slated for 11 a.m. and will be stream on ESPN+.
Wednesday's clash will be the team's eighth edition of the annual event, with the Ragin' Cajuns (6-2) owning a 3-4 overall record in the contest. Last season, the team posted an 80-48 victory over McNeese on Education Day.
Sophomore Destiny Rice has continued to leave her mark on the program and is coming a 13 points, five rebounds and five assist showing at Houston. Rice is currently averaging 10.1 points per contest.
Senior Ty'Reona Doucet joins Rice as a double-figure performing, averaging 10.8 points per game and leading the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest, while Makayia Hallmon is giving her squad 10.3 points an outing.
Louisiana continues to rely heavily on its defense and it shows as the team ranks 10th nationally in field goal percentage defense (32.5) and 44th nationally in 3-point field goal defense (25.1).
LSU-S enters the game with an 5-7 overall record and a 2-2 record away from home. The Pilots are coming off a 65-61 defeat to Dillard.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two teams, with Louisiana leading the all-time series, 4-1. The Ragin' Cajuns won the last meeting, a 83-42 win on Nov. 12, 2012 in E.K. Long Gymnasium.
