Louisiana Resumes Action at Southeastern Louisiana

Ragin’ Cajuns and Lady Lions set to meet for first time since 2019 season
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana continues its five-game stretch against in-state opponents on Thursday night when it travels to Hammond to take on Southeastern Louisiana. Tipoff is from the University Center is slated for 7 p.m.

Currently 1-1 on the year against teams from the state of Louisiana, the Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a 64-45 victory over New Orleans on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Freshman Alicia Blanton, making her first career start, led the team with a career-high 12 points, while Lanay Wheaton and Ty'Reona Doucet added 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

The defense also got it done during Saturday's game, holding UNO to just four first quarter points and 19 total points in the first half. On the season, the Louisiana defense has held teams to 60.5 points per game.

Southeastern Louisiana (2-2) enters the contest on a two-game winning streak with victories over LSU-Shreveport (74-35) and on the road at Alcorn State (69-58).

Sophomore Daija Harvey leads the team with an 8.5 scoring average, while senior Morgan Carrier has started in all four of the team's games and is averaging 7.0 points for the Lady Lions.
