Louisiana Athletics has teamed up with RoadRunnerApp.com to offer a new series on RaginCajuns.com in which student-athletes share details on how they've adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offer insight into their personal lives.

In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" softball's Kendall Talley. After using a redshirt season in 2019, Kendall took to the field for the nationally ranked Ragin' Cajuns for the first time in 2020. In her first-ever start for Louisiana on Feb. 11, she had a double, triple and RBI against her former school (Lamar) to start an eight-game hitting streak which earned her a spot in the lineup the remainder of the season. She will have three seasons of eligibility remaining starting with the 2021 season, and when her playing days are complete she'll seek out a career in marketing or advertising.

Q: What was your daily routine during the COVID-19 quarantine as the spring semester wrapped up?
A: Sleep in, school work, work out, take my dog for a walk, cook dinner, watch Netflix ... repeat

Q: What was Coach Glasco's message to your team for this unprecedented time?
A: "Work while you wait". No one really knows what is going on or has all of the answers. Use this time to better yourself and be prepared to compete in the fall.

Q. How were you and your teammates able to stay together, while in remote locations, during this challenging time period?
A: Zoom team meetings, facetime, snapchat.

Q: Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
A: The sense of a family bond between the fans and the program. Also, the culture of Cajun Nation is extremely unique and special. We have the best fans in the country!

Q. What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?
A: My goal would be to pursue a job in the advertising/marketing field.

Q: What is your earliest sports memory?
A: Being tackled by a boy while playing soccer … because I blocked his goal.

Q: Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
A: I always admired Derek Jeter. He was always very respectful to the game and a really good leader for his teammates. Just a class act. He always did things the right way.

Q: An important question: what is your favorite food?
A: Raw bell peppers – the best thing ever!!
