Louisiana Marketing Department Nominated for 2020 NACMA Team of the Year

Department one of eight around the country put up for the award
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Athletics' Marketing, Promotions & External Engagement team has been recognized as one of eight nominees for the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) 2020 Marketing Team of the Year, presented by SuperFan.

The 2020 nominees for the award include: Louisiana, Purdue University, UNLV, Louisville, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas and Washington.

"We are thankful NACMA has chosen us as one of the best marketing teams in the country," Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and External Engagement Connor Whelan said. "To be considered for this incredibly prestigious award among the likes of Texas, Washington and South Carolina is a great honor. As a marketing staff, we are grateful for the leadership Bryan Maggard and Nico Yantko have provided to help us achieve our objectives. It's been a team effort across the entire external unit, and we're thankful for everybody's contributions."

To be eligible for the distinction, marketing departments from around the country were required to submit a portfolio detailing the units efforts over the course of the athletic year or success on a large-scale project. Judging was based on numerous categories, including revenue generation, fan experience, brand awareness, social media and more.

The eight honorees were chosen by a selection committee made up of past NACMA Presidents. The winning team, two finalists and five honorable mentions will be announced during the Virtual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 27.

NACMA provides the tools, training and network for collegiate sports marketers to successfully generate revenue, manage brands and develop fans.
