Partnerships with local governments and businesses will connect Department of Athletics staff members throughout the Acadiana Region
LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Athletics is set to begin year three of its Acadiana grassroots outreach effort, the Parish Representatives Program. With members of the Ragin' Cajuns Athletics staff serving as representatives, local parishes will receive a personal touch in keeping up with the Vermilion and White.
Â
The representatives from Louisiana Athletics will provide primary support and customer service to Acadiana supporters of the Ragin' Cajuns, including fostering relationships with constituents and stake holders. Engaging local businesses, government representatives, and community leaders is a focal point of the program.
Â
"We already have over 300 businesses, organizations and local governments participating, which gives our university and the Ragin' Cajuns brand tremendous exposure in the region and state," Deputy Director of Athletics/External Operations Nico Yantko said. "These relationships are imperative to share the great stories taking place on our campus and the impact the University has on our community."
Â
Originally launched in 2018 with the assistance of One Acadiana, the parish representatives program places an additional emphasis on local outreach from Ragin' Cajuns Athletics.
Â
Local businesses are also encouraged to sign up for the Louisiana Rally Program. Membership in the program includes benefits such as tickets to select Ragin' Cajuns Athletics events, team posters, schedule cards, yard signs, window decals and more. To sign up for the Louisiana Rally Program, visit ragincajuns.com/rally.
Â
Parish representatives will pair frequent communication with regular visits to their assigned parishes, bringing the Ragin' Cajuns to the doorsteps of many throughout the Acadiana region. Representatives will also assist in the coordination of speaking opportunities and events in local parishes. For more information on how to coordinate Ragin' Cajuns speakers and guest appearances, contact Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and External Engagement, Connor Whelan at connor.whelan@louisiana.edu.
