Louisiana Athletics has teamed up with RoadRunnerApp.com to offer a new series on RaginCajuns.com in which student-athletes share details on how they've adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offer insight into their personal lives.

In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" softball's Carrie Boswell. Having the chance to realize her dream of playing collegiate softball in her home state means the world to Carrie. Since joining the Ragin' Cajuns Softball squad, she has contributed both in the pitching circle and a the plate. A dual threat for Louisiana, Carrie was competing at first base and beginning to hit her stride at the plate when the 2020 season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

What has been your daily routine during the COVID-19 quarantine?
CB: My daily routine has been to cook meals, spend time with my dog Chip, workout with my roommate Mélissa Mayeux, and then take care of all my schoolwork. We try to keep it lighthearted, and fun, throughout the house.

What has Coach Glasco's message to your team been during this unprecedented time?
CB: Coach Glasco has made it clear that although we cannot control what is happening right now, we can control how we utilize this time. He wants us to stay safe, in shape, and on top of our schoolwork, so that when we have the opportunity to be together again as a team we can take full advantage of our opportunity next season.

How have you and your teammates stuck together remotely during this challenging time period?
CB: Each Thursday my friends and I conduct a Zoom meeting to catch up since we all live far apart. We'll also talk everyday through texts or even snapchat, but that Zoom call is probably my favorite part of the week.

Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
CB: When I was deciding on which university to attended and compete for in softball, it ultimately came down to the combination of the Ragin' Cajuns Softball winning tradition along with the best fan base in the country. I knew coming to Louisiana would allow me to be my most competitive self and give me the opportunity to represent my home state.

What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?
CB: After my academic and athletic career is finished at Louisiana, my goal is to get accepted into physical therapy school and pursue my dream professional career.

What is your earliest sports memory?
CB: My earliest sports memory is hitting a grand slam in the All Star tee-ball tournament championship game to win it all. I fell in love with the game then at five-years old.

Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
CB: Growing up, my sports heroes were Megan Langenfeld from UCLA because she hit and pitch at the highest level inspiring me to do the same thing, and Mia Hamm because soccer was my second love behind softball and she was the best.

An important question: what is your favorite food?
CB: My favorite food is easily anything that my mama cooks. However, my dad tries to show me different cultures. Anytime we go eat, we always try to go to a different ethnic spot. We enjoy sushi, pho, and Indian tandoori chicken.
