Ragin' Cajuns tied for eighth in SBC standings; looking to host first-round game

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team wraps up its 2019-20 regular-season road schedule on Saturday when it travels to face Sun Belt Conference leader Little Rock at the Jack Stephens Center.
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, RaginCajuns.com and the Hot 107.9 mobile app with Jay Walker on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with Ben Creighton (Play-By-Play) and Steve Shields (Color) providing commentary.

Louisiana (12-17, 7-11 Sun Belt) remained in contention for hosting a first-round game in next month's Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championships after rallying from a 14-point deficit to defeat Arkansas State, 77-74, on Wednesday at the Cajundome.
 
Cedric Russell scored 19 of his team-high 22 points in the second half for Louisiana while P.J. Hardy scored 13 of his season-high 19 points after intermission as the Ragin' Cajuns outscored the Red Wolves, 52-37, in the final 20 minutes.
 
Louisiana enters its contest against Little Rock (20-9, 14-4 Sun Belt) tied with Coastal Carolina for eighth-place in the Sun Belt Conference standings. The Ragin' Cajuns and CCU will conclude the regular-season on Tuesday at the Cajundome in the lone meeting between the teams.
 
Little Rock clinched a share of the Sun Belt title on Thursday after defeating ULM, 79-63. The Trojans will wrap up the regular-season on Tuesday at Georgia State and will receive a bye into the Sun Belt semifinals that will be held March 14 at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center.
