Louisiana Opens Indoor Season At LSU Purple Tiger

First of six meets during indoor season for Ragin' Cajuns
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field team officially opens its 2020 season on Friday when it travels to Baton Rouge to compete in the LSU Purple Tiger at Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
Field events begin at 10 a.m., with running events starting at 1 p.m. Live results for the meet will be available on RaginCajuns.com.
Joining Louisiana and host LSU in the 13-team meet are Grambling, Hinds Community College, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Tulane, ULM and Xavier.
A pair of 2019 Sun Belt Conference Indoor champions – Reagann Leleux (women's pole vault) and Dominique Williams (men's weight throw) – return to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with All-Sun Belt Conference performers Key Alfred, Kemondrick Walter, Jonathan Kimutai, John Joseph and Kimmie Rushford all slated to participate.
The Ragin' Cajuns will also see the debut of 23 newcomers, highlighted by Louisiana Tech transfer and 2019 All-American Cole Courtois in the men's pole vault.
The meet is the first of six during the indoor season for Louisiana leading up to next month's Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The Ragin' Cajuns will also compete in meets at Texas A&M (Jan. 17), Houston (Jan. 24-25, Jan. 31), McNeese (Jan. 31) and Samford (Feb. 14) before the SBC Championships on Feb. 24-25.
