Louisiana To Host ULM In Ragin' Cajuns Alumni Game

80th meeting on hardwood between Ragin' Cajuns, Warhawks; halftime performance by Red Panda
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team wraps up a three-game homestand on Saturday when it plays host to in-state opponent ULM in a Sun Belt Conference contest at the Cajundome.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, ESPN 1420 AM and the ESPN 1420 app with Jay Walker on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with Dan McDonald (PxP) and former Ragin' Cajuns standout Eric Mouton (Color) providing commentary. Live results will available at CajunStats.com.
Saturday's game against ULM (6-12, 2-7 Sun Belt) is the Alumni Game for Louisiana with former Ragin' Cajuns basketball players, coaches and support staff recognized. Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to be treated again at halftime by Red Panda, one of the top national acts.
The Ragin' Cajuns coaching staff will be donning sneakers with men's head coaches are wearing exclusive Coaches vs. Cancer ties designed by Vineyard Vines to raise awareness for cancer prevention, screening and early detection.
The game is also the "Take a Kid to the Game" promotion with all kids, aged 12 and under, receiving complimentary admission with a voucher.
Louisiana (7-13, 2-7 Sun Belt), which will wrap up the first half of its 20-game Sun Belt Conference schedule, dropped a 68-59 decision to Texas State in its last game on Jan. 18 despite a team-high 18 points from Jalen Johnson. The Ragin' Cajuns, who have been plagued by injuries this season, were without its second- (Kobe Julien), third- (Cedric Russell) and fourth-leading scorers (Mylik Wilson) in the contest while also missing freshman Javonne Lowery and sophomore point guard Trajan Wesley.
Johnson averages 14.8 points and 6.7 rebounds to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with Dou Gueye (9.4 ppg.), P.J. Hardy (7.4) and Tirus Smith (7.4) next in scoring.
The meeting against ULM will be the 80th between the schools on the hardwood with Louisiana holding a 55-24 lead. The Ragin' Cajuns have won six of the last seven meetings in the series, including four straight at the Cajundome since 2016.
