Saturday’s contest is first of three-straight road games for the Ragin’ Cajuns

LAFAYETTE – Coming off a hard-earned 73-68 home triumph against South Alabama on Thursday night, Louisiana resumes play on the road when it travels to Alabama to face Troy on Saturday morning at Trojan Arena.

With the threat of severe weather across the South, tipoff for Saturday's contest has been moved to 11 a.m. The game, which was previously scheduled to be played at 2 p.m., will still be broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPN1420.

Playing a rare game at home to open league play, Louisiana (9-5, 2-1 SBC) picked up a big win in the Cajundome when it took down South Alabama, 73-68. Skyler Goodwin led the way with a season-high 17 points, while Kimberly added 12 points of her own, matching a career high.

Sophomore Brandi Williams continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per contest, with Ty'Reona Doucet right behind her with 12.3 points per game. Doucet also leads the team on the glass, averaging 7.9 boards a game, including 18 rebounds in her last outing against South Alabama.

Troy enters Saturday's contest atop the Sun Belt standings with a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 3-0 record in conference play. The Trojans have won nine-straight ballgames, the most recent a 72-65 victory over ULM on Wednesday night in Monroe.

Jasmine Robinson led the Trojans with 13 points against the Warhawks, while Amber Rivers added 12 points of her own. Kate Rodgers added eight points and eight rebounds.

Robinson leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per contest, while Kayla Robinson is the only other Trojan in double figures, averaging 11.9 points a game.

Louisiana and Troy will be meeting for the 25th time dating back to 2006 when the two programs face off on Saturday morning in Troy. Troy leads the all-time series, 14-10 and is 9-1 against Louisiana in Troy.
