35th Annual Louisiana Classics set for March 16-17, 2020

LAFAYETTE – Four events in the state of Texas, a return trip to Hawaii and the 35th annual Louisiana Classics highlight the 2019-20 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's golf schedule announced by head coach Theo Sliman on Friday.

Return trips to 2018-19 destinations San Antonio (Lone Star Invitational), Mobile, Ala. (Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate), Houston (The All-American) and West Point, Miss. (Old Waverly Collegiate Championship) are on the Ragin' Cajuns schedule, along with a return trip to Hawaii (Hoakalei Invitational) and Laredo, Texas (Border Olympics).

"We are very excited to announce our competition schedule for the 2019-20 season. We have added a few new events as well as maintained some familiar tournaments that the Ragin' Cajuns have been affiliated with for many years," Sliman said. "We are very fortunate to have the support of our Administration in setting up a very competitive schedule that will have us face numerous top 100 programs throughout the season with the ultimate goal of aligning and preparing us for the NCAA Tournament. The team and I are anxious to start the fast approaching Fall portion of our 2019-20 campaign."

Louisiana, which returns all five starters and eight letterwinners overall, will get the season started in the Lone Star State on Sept. 16-17 at the UTSA-hosted Lone Star Invitational at TPC San Antonio. The Ragin' Cajuns will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 28-30 when they travel to the Hoakalei Invitational in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

Louisiana will open the spring portion of its schedule Feb. 10-11, 2020 at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala. The Cajuns will then compete in a pair of tournaments in the state of Texas beginning with The All-American, hosted jointly by the University of Houston and Rice University on Feb. 16-18.

The fourth event in the Lone Star State for the Ragin' Cajuns will be on Feb. 24-25 when they travel to Laredo, Texas to compete at the Border Olympics, hosted by Houston.

The Ragin' Cajuns will open the month of March at home, hosting the 35th edition of the Louisiana Classics on March 16-17 at Oakbourne Country Club. The 16-team field will feature a pair of teams that finished in the GolfStat Top-30 (No. 26 Illinois, No. 30 Louisville) and seven teams that finished in the top-100.

Louisiana will then close out the regular-season with a pair of events – the inaugural Craft Farms Intercollegiate (March 30-31) in Gulf Shores, Ala., and the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship (April 13-14) in West Point, Miss.
