SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – After splitting its opening Sun Belt Conference weekend, Louisiana Women's Tennis (6-7, 1-1 SBC) hits the road for a weekend in Texas, starting with Texas State (4-7, 0-2 SBC) on Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m., before wrapping up the weekend at UT Arlington (9-5, 0-2 SBC) on Sunday, March 24 at 10 a.m.

SPLITTING THE START: Louisiana opened up its conference account with a pair of home matches against Georgia Southern (Mar. 15) and Georgia State (Mar. 16).  The Ragin' Cajuns lost a tough match to open the weekend, falling 4-3 to Georgia Southern, before bouncing back to win its first conference match of the season against Georgia State, 5-2.

PICAUT IS ROLLING: Sophomore Floriane Picaut has been leading Louisiana from the front, taking her previous two matches, and she is currently 9-4 in singles.  Playing primarily at No. 1 singles, Picaut boasts the third most wins at No. 1 in the conference, going 7-3 and she is 7-3 in last 10 matches.

HABIB WINS A PAIR: Freshman Hoda Habib has won her previous two matches, to help improve her singles record to 4-6.  Playing primarily at No. 3, going 3-3, Habib won her conference opening match against Georgia Southern, taking down Emilia Bujan in a three-set comeback, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (9).

WHAT THE BOBCATS BRING: Texas State began its conference schedule with a pair of losses in Alabama, losing at Troy (4-1) and at South Alabama (7-0) and over the past four matches Texas State has won only one of them, a 4-3 win vs. Missouri State on March 10.

One solid portion of Texas State's lineup is Ana Perez, who is 8-3 at No. 1 singles and she has the second most wins in the conference at No. 1 singles.  This will be the sixth straight season that Louisiana and Texas State have faced off at least once in the season, with Louisiana taking the last meeting, but the Bobcats hold a 5-3 advantage going back to the 2006 season.

WHAT THE MAVERICKS BRING: UT Arlington stats the weekend in Monroe, La., facing the ULM Warhawks on Saturday, March 23, before heading south to Lafayette, La., to take on Louisiana.  Entering the weekend, the Mavs are 9-5, but they have lost their previous three matches, with the last win coming on March 6, vs. Toledo, (4-1).

Liz Chileno's .875 winning percentage is the fifth-best in the conference, and she holds a 7-1 record in singles.  This will be the fifth straight season both Louisiana and UT Arlington have met, with UT Arlington holding an 8-1 advantage going back to 2003, and the Mavs have won the previous five matches.
