Louisiana paired in first two rounds with Rice, Little Rock
LAKE CHARLES – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team will look to defend its title beginning on Monday when it opens play at the Lake Charles Toyota Invitational at The Country Club at The Golden Nugget.

The tournament will begin on Monday at 7:50 a.m., with 36 holes on the par-72, 7,007-yard course before the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday beginning at 7:50 a.m. Louisiana, which is paired with Rice and Little Rock on Monday, will start from the No. 1 tee beginning at 9:28 a.m. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.

Louisiana is part of a field that features three teams – No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 18 Arkansas State, and No. 43 TCU – ranked in the GolfStat Top 50. Also entered in the 18-team field is host McNeese, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, ULM, UTSA and Team Sweden.

Louisiana claimed its first team win since the 2013 Sam Hall Intercollegiate after posting a 12-stroke victory over No. 39 Marquette at last year's event. The Ragin' Cajuns claimed both the team and individual titles with Jack Tolson posting the best 54-hole score in school history, carding a 15-under par 201 to earn a four-stroke victory over Texas State's Logan Davis.

With Tolson (flu) unable to defend his individual title, Louisiana will be led by Charlie Flynn and Triston Elston at the top of the lineup. Bjorn Gudjonsson, who finished third (8-under 208) at last year's event, returns to the lineup and will be joined by Micah Goulas and Cole Kendrick.
