Louisiana drops one spot on final day of 54-hole tournament
CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Triston Elston carded a 1-over-par 73 and Charlie Flynn recorded a 2-over 74 as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team wrapped up play in the 54-hole Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic on Tuesday at the San Diego Country Club.

Louisiana, which was tied for 12th in the team standings after 36 holes, dropped one spot to 13th after posting a team score of 303 and finishing at 902 overall on the par-72, 7,033-yard course.

Fifth-ranked Arizona State, the first-day leader, posted an overall team score of 854 and held off No. 8 Texas by one stroke with St. Mary's (860), North Carolina (861) and co-host San Diego State (872) rounding out the top five.

Flynn, who opened the tournament with a 2-under-par 70 before shooting a 5-over 77 in the second round, finished a 5-over 221 for the tournament to lead Louisiana. Elston finished at 6-over 222 for the event for the Ragin' Cajuns with Jack Tolson (231), Hudson Dubinski (234) and Peter Hinnant completing the lineup.

Arizona State's Mason Anderson fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish in a three-way tie for first at 210. Anderson defeated Texas' Cole Hammer and Blake Hathcot of St. Mary's in a playoff.

Louisiana will return to action on Monday (March 18) when it travels to Lake Charles to compete at the Lake Charles Invitational at the Country Club at Golden Nugget.
