@RaginCajunsMT Crowned Winners Of 53rd HEB Tournament Of Champions

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In what was an undefeated weekend for Louisiana Men's Tennis (14-3), the Ragin' Cajuns handed Sun Belt Conference foe Troy (10-1) its first loss of the season, taking the championship match 4-1 on Saturday morning, giving Louisiana the title at the 53rd HEB Tournament of Champions.
The win also extended Louisiana's winning streak to four matches, and the Ragin' Cajuns have won eight out of its last nine matches. Louisiana was led during the weekend by strong performances from several members of the squad with senior Arthur Libaud, junior Jamie Fraser and freshmen Jan Galka and Kacper Dworak each getting two wins in singles.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Doubles): The day begun with Louisiana snagging the doubles point, with the nationally ranked No. 53 doubles duo of Libaud and junior Pearse Dolan getting a 6-2 win over Luis Foix and Christopher Tasker. The point was locked up with a 7-5 win by the Louisiana pairing of Fraser and junior Elio Lago taking down the Troy duo of Oskar Michalek and Manuel Bernard, and the win meant that Louisiana took a 1-0 lead into singles play.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Singles): Louisiana controlled the action through singles with Dworak getting a straight-set win at No. 6, 6-4, 6-1, over Antonio Selma. Fraser locked up his second singles win of the weekend with a straight-set, 6-4, 7-5, victory at No. 5 over Jiaqi Duan.
At No. 3 Libaud had the toughest match of the day, but he dug deep through it all, bouncing back from dropping the second set to take the match, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, over Bernard. The win finished off a great weekend for Louisiana and gave them the title at the 53rd HEB Tournament of Champions.
UP NEXT FOR THE CAJUNS: Louisiana remains on the road with a visit to East Tennessee State on Mar. 2, followed by a quick turnaround heading to Prairie View A&M for a doubleheader on Mar. 3.
