Louisiana heads west to Houston to compete at All-American Intercollegiate
MOBILE, Ala. – Heavy rains in the Mobile area on Tuesday washed out the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team's final round of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
Â
Louisiana, which shot a 3-over-par 579 through the first 36 holes, finished in a seventh-place tie with Illinois State, Richmond and Oral Roberts. Jack Tolson led the Ragin' Cajuns, finishing 17th overall after shooting consecutive rounds of 1-under-par 71.
Â
Micah Goulas (70-73-143) finished 24th for Louisiana with Charlie Flynn (73-74-147), Peter Hinnant (74-73-147) and Bjorn Gudjonsson (75-75-150) rounding out the lineup on the par-72, 7,212-yard course.
Â
"Not the position we wanted to end the week in," head coach Theo Sliman said. "It's unfortunate that the final round was canceled as I know the team was very anxious and determined to redeem themselves after yesterday's mediocre play.
Â
"We have a busy rest of the semester and it is imperative that we stick to our philosophy as a team and focus on the process of the spring competitive season. I have a lot of confidence in this entire team and know that we have some solid play ahead of us. We greatly look forward to a quick turnaround with our next event this weekend in Houston."
Â
Louisiana will head west to Humble, Texas to compete in the All-American Intercollegiate, beginning Sunday at the Golf Club of Houston. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is hosted by the University of Houston.
