First-ever meeting between the schools on the hardwood
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team returns to action on Friday when it plays host to Horizon League member Youngstown State in a non-conference contest at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+ and can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (2-1), which dressed only nine players due to injury, dropped a 98-65 decision at TCU on Tuesday despite three players reaching double figures in scoring. Jalen Johnson scored 21 points to notch his third straight 20-point contest for the Ragin' Cajuns with Cedric Russell scoring 18 points in the first half, with Mylik Wilson finishing with 16.

The Ragin' Cajuns held a six-point lead in the first half against the Horned Frogs and finished 7-for-10 from behind the 3-point line in the opening 20 minutes. TCU was aided by a three-point shooting barrage in which it went 12-for-21 from behind the 3-point line in the first half en route to a school-record 18 made 3-pointers.

Youngstown State (1-1) dropped a 78-55 decision at No. 5-ranked Louisville on Nov. 10 in its last contest. Naz Bohannon led the Penguins with 14 points and eight rebounds while Darius Quisenberry had 11 points and Devin Morgan 10.

The meeting between Louisiana and Youngstown State will be the first-ever between the schools on the hardwood. The Penguins will be the first Horizon League team to play at the Cajundome since Oakland (Mich.) in 2012.
